Today a stranger, who was before me at the checkout line in Ikea, did the most generous thing ever. She paid not only for my item, but also for another stranger’s. She wanted to use up her $150 gift card. My item was only a measly $3 which I could of easily paid for. However, I was incredibly stunned at her kindness that I was a little lost for words, and could only manage a croaky, “N-no, it’s all right”. She still went ahead and paid for it. It was weird. I mean it’s not everyday you get strangers who offer genuine acts of kindness.

Before leaving the home-maker centre, I saw her again and I smiled a big smile. In return, she wished me a good day, and again, I was stunned. I can never understand how there are people with that much beauty in their being.

I never did get my painting of Frida Kahlo back and that saddens me.

Sometimes, all you want to do is walk in the rain on a rainy day such as today. To let your hair become doused, so you may observe the droplets of rain form on the tips of your hair, until it becomes plump and full and lets the go of the world.

Sometimes, all you want to do is sit outside on a gloomy day like today to, you know, feel numb. And so you will sit out there and mindlessly place your focus onto that distant tree, flower, or whatever. You breathe out condensed air for the kick of things, and because smoking a real cigarette isn’t your thing. Eventually, minutes will tick away and you’ve wasted an hour.

You hope you find yourself soon because, you know, it’s the flu season and you don’t want to catch a cold.
